Sheri Prescott

Mrs. Sheri Prescott has been teaching drama for more than 21 years with the DDSB. She loves directing plays for schools and competitions.  Take this course if you are serious about an intensive and enjoyable course in partner scenes, audition monologues, stage combat, and more. 

 

Mrs. Prescott will direct the actor to do their "actor's homework" using Uta Hagen and Constanine Stanislavski's acting methods.  A whole new level of stage presence and theatre confidence awaits.

IMPROV

Conner Atkins

Mr. Connor Atkins is passionate about improvisation and the power it has to change lives.  He is a National contender of the Canadian Improv Games and graduate of Humber College's "Acting for Film and Television" program.

 

Connor will deliver improvisational training as well as develop the actor's ability to create strong characters with confidence.  Jump out of your comfort zone and into the improv pool where the preparation for real life begins!

 

 

 

DRAWING

Mrs. Dayna Kirkpatrick has been teaching visual arts for eight years in the DDSB. Her easy to follow instructions will build art skills like rapid-fire!

 

After a few sessions of intense art-training with Mrs. K, your confidence as an artist will grow. Learn the techniques need for portrait drawings in session 1. Aspiring and experienced artists alike are warmly welcomed.

 

 

Dayna Kirkpatrick

 

Tara Sarre

Mrs. Tara Sarre is a graduate of York University's Theatre Studies program. She is currently teaching high school drama and is eager to launch the next musical theatre project.

 

With incredible ninja-like focus, Mrs. Sarre and her vocal colleague Marcelle Boisjoli will teach students choreography, singing and acting skills. Be prepared to be amazed at how far an actor can progress in 12 hours of instruction.

 

This is an excellent program for audition preparations for schools, theatres, and life in general.

 

 

MUSICAL THEATRE

 

Modern/Ballet Dance

Ms. Nicole Porco is a talented dancer and language arts instructor.  She has travelled all over the world and enjoys Spanish dancing, acrobatics and zumba.  Ms. Porco is passionate about modern dance and ballet and looks forward to choreographing original dance pieces with her Arts on Fire students this year. 


Ms. Porco can train experienced and inexperienced dancers alike! Students will enjoy this recreational dance class by working on a single beautiful piece for performance. Come dance with Nicole!

Georgia Fullerton

Ms. Georgia Fullerton has over 20 combined years of arts education, community arts facilitation and international exhibitions. She is an alumni of York University’s Faculty of Fine Arts and an expressive arts therapy practitioner from The CREATE (Center for Expressive Art Therapy & Education) Institute of Toronto.

 

Ms. Fullerton will provide three large canvasses for students to explore their artistic imagination.

PAINTING

 

VOCALS

Mrs. Marcelle Boisjoli has been training young voices for more than 10 years. She has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in vocal performance from McGill University and is classically trained singer.

 

Her purpose is to empower students to find their own unique voice. 

 

Mrs. Boisjoli will help students build confidence and musicanship through different genres of music. Group singing in a small ensemble will have the next generation making beautiful music. Students will prepare two separate pieces of music for performance.  This is an exceptional opportunity for aspiring singers and those preparing for auditions. Come watch the showcase the last day!
